This Is Why You Should Definitely Proofread a High School Diploma
When you graduate from high school, it signifies your entrance into the “adult” world, more or less.
You’re expected to leave the carefree days of your youth behind and become a responsible person equipped with the necessary skills to get a good job and all that crap we’re told.
And after graduation, you’re given a diploma that signifies that you successfully completed those courses at an institute focused on learning and details.
Unless you were one of the 550 students at Ontario High School in Los Angeles, California, who were rewarded for their efforts with, well, this…
A diploma in a fancy red leather case etched with a freaking typo.
The incident went viral after graduating senior @jacedoooouploaded the disfigured diploma to Twitter with the caption“WOOO GRADUATED FROM ONTARIO HIGH SHCOOL !!!!!!”
And as you might have noticed above, one of her friends was clearly so upset about the error that she couldn’t even hold her diploma right side up.
School staff blamedthe printer’s office and said they will “mail a corrected diploma cover to each graduate along with an apology letter.”
But they shouldn’t feel that bad, as it even happens in college.
This Reddit user had his college diploma for two years before his wife noticed an unfortunate typo.
So the moral of the story is that it doesn’t get any better, kids. We’re all idiots.
Welcome to adulthood!
